前記事のHSBC Advance Visa Platinum Card：日本在住者の申し込みについて。で書いたとおり、HSBC Advance Visa Platinum Cardを申し込むためには、以下の条件を満たす必要があるように読めた。
・HSBC Advance口座を保持している香港在住の顧客は原則として申し込める。
・香港在住でない顧客は、必要な項目が記載された香港の企業からの雇用証明レターが必要となる。
しかし、国外にいる顧客に対しての発行方法がないものか、もう少し突っ込んで問い合わせてみたところ、以下のような回答をいただくことができた。つまりは、定期預金を一定額入れて、かつ関係部署の承認を得ることができれば、カードが発行できる可能性がある（保証は出来ないが）というものだった。
いつかは余裕でHSBC Premierカードのホルダーになってみたいものだが、登竜門としてこのカードを日本からでも敢えて保有したいという場合には、相談の余地があるかもしれませんね。

In view of your situation, you can consider placing a time deposit under lien with HSBC in Hong Kong to support your application. The minimum deposit amount would be HKD50,000 equivalent to USD6,500) for a credit card with the credit limit of HKD40,000 (equivalent to USD5,000). The fund will be released two months after the card is cancelled, provided that there is no outstanding balance in the card account. Meanwhile, please maintain the Total Relationship Balance of HKD200,000 or above in your HSBC Advance account.
